Mobile apps are driving success at Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz is a German automobile manufacturer and a multinational division of Daimler AG. The Mercedes-Benz brand is one of the most recognized automotive brands in the world and is known for its luxury automobiles, buses, coaches and trucks.

Mercedes Benz asked us to build a suite of mobile apps, that would work globally, to help support their spare parts and maintenance warehouses.

We like to think we approached the challenge in the way Mercedes-Benz approaches designing a new car. The mobile apps had to be unbeatable quality, efficient, streamlined, and they had to look good.

We delivered a fleet of uber efficient, Mercedes-Benz branded, Movilizer apps that allow users to check stock locations, receive and putaway stock and issue stock for various activities in real time, on the go. And, to further increase accuracy some of our apps even showed actual pictures of the stock to be picked.

The apps put a stop to the continual need to go back and forth to a desktop PC to process work and update SAP. With less demand on staff time, change over speed was improved, along with overall production efficiency.

We streamlined their physical inventory process (PI) with apps that allow users to verify quantities, do blind counts and record actual images and comments for audit. This gave Mercedes-Benz greater confidence in inventory figures, ensured maximum line utilisation at all times and was particularly powerful in bringing autonomy to the night shifts.
